CLA is short for Conjugated Linoleic Acid. It is a naturally occurring chemical in certain plants and certain animals. Ceela Natural's CLA is extracted from non-GMO Safflower oil using a solvent-additive free process. CLA is designated as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA and is primarily used as a nutritional supplement. Dr. Changaris was awarded patents for his CLA research, where he observed that CLA suppressed bacterial and fungal growth. CLA has shown to have positive effects for the natural skin microbiome, helping maintain a healthy balance. It has become part of the pre-biotic skincare support.
